Masks Keep Us Safe

Who of us 18 months ago owned a mask? Who had any reasonable suspicion that masks would now be in every purse, vehicle, or sitting near the front door with our everyday items like keys or wallets? I know I didn't and I know that it has taken about a full year for my family to get used to just grabbing one more automatically as we venture out into the world. Who would have ever thought, even for a moment, that masks would be mandated? The reasoning being that they keep us safe. Masks protect us from germs and things in the air that we don't want to absorb into our being. They also protect others from things within our being that may not be good for them.  Interestingly we have our physical masks that have become the norm that we cart around to protect ourselves and others, and we also have the invisible, theoretical masks that we all wear.
